Welcome to Kirk Fenton Parochial Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School.

Our school is situated in a beautiful, rural setting in the village of Church Fenton. We wish to encourage a real sense of community within the village and local area with the school and the church at the centre. We have very strong links with St Mary’s Church and we have very supportive parents and members of the community making our school a ‘Community of Friends’.

We offer a high standard of education for children aged 3 to 11 years. The school was extended in 2004 and comprises of seven classrooms including a spacious nursery. There is also a library area, a large hall and a resources room used for group work and meetings. There are extensive grounds including playground areas, a large field and outdoor learning areas. We are also fortunate in having our own heated swimming pool which enables all children from the Reception class to Year 6 to have swimming lessons from a specialist swimming teacher.

Our inspection in 2008 identified us as “clearly a good church school with many outstanding features”.  At Kirk Fenton we value each individual and therefore we aim to meet the needs of all children so that they can achieve their full potential. In order to do this we have a stimulating curriculum underpinned by Christian values. Whilst we are very proud of our achievements as measured by tests and assessments we are equally proud of the wide range of opportunities we provide for developing the whole child.

We encourage children to empathise with others by developing a positive attitude to differing cultures, beliefs and opinions. We are committed to developing our pupils’ skills for life enabling them to develop into happy, self confident, well motivated individuals who respect others. This means that we work hard to enable each child to reach their potential academically and socially.

I hope you enjoy visiting our site and find the information useful. If you would like any further information do not hesitate in contacting the school. We have an open door policy and visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
