Thank you to all the parents who helped take children to the cross country event. The children showed amazing perseverance and enjoyed being active and cheering on their friends. Thank you for making it possible to take the whole class!
We have begun our new topic which is all about Christmas!
In R.E. we have been looking at the Christmas story and thinking about the meaning of Christmas. We have begun practising our nativity and are very excited about our new roles!
In our phonics sessions, we have been reviewing all the sounds we have learnt and applying them to read longer words. Next week we will begin learning some new graphemes. This week we have been learning to spell the words
We have been looking at subtraction during our maths lessons and using a number line to count backwards to help us solve practical problems.
We have been working very hard to improve our handwriting and I am pleased at the perseverance and effort we have been showing. Please encourage your child to hold their pencil correctly at home.
Our P.E. sessions are held on Friday and this half term we will be developing our movement skills to music.
We have an 'open door policy', if you need to pass on a message about your child on a morning then please speak to Miss McHale or Mrs Mawson. If you require a longer conversation then please contact Miss McHale to make an appointment.
We always welcome parental support, if you are able to spare some time either on a regular or ad hoc basis then we would love to hear from you. Thank you to the parents who have supported our learning already.
